Stephen Cobb of Higganum, CT passed away on September 9, 2021. Born on November 21, 1948 to the late Victoria Cannamela Cobb Smith and Clayton Everett Cobb Sr. He is also preceded by his oldest brother Clayton Cobb Jr. He is survived by his wife Irene, his sisters Deirdre Cobb Penland of West Harford, CT, Jenifer Cobb Kohlhas and husband John of Philadelph­ia, PA, his brothers Phillip Cobb and wife Nancy of Holbrook, AR, Jeffrey Cobb and partner Lisa LaRochelle of Plainfield, CT, William Cobb and wife Marylou of Lisbon, CT, brother-in-law John Oktavec and wife Kathy of Lorton, VA, 12 nieces, 1 nephew, 3 great-nieces and 6 great-nephews. Stephen was a graduate of Xavier High School’s first class of 1967. He served in Vietnam in 1968 with the Marine Corps Lima 3/5 60 Mortars. After his honorable discharged from the Marines, he worked 35 years as a lineman with the power company. After his honorable discharge from the Marines, he became a lineman for the power company. He retired after 35 years. Stephen enjoyed many things during his life: friends, family, his Marine Corp bothers, helping people and trying new adventures. Stephen was a member of the Purple Hearts, Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW), Veterans of Vietnam War Inc, Marine Corps League, the American Legion & the Elks. The funeral liturgy will be held Thursday, September 16th at 9 a.m. at St. Francis Church, 10 Elm St., Middletown. Burial with military honors will follow at State Veterans Cemetery, Bow Ln., Middletown. Calling hours will be held on Wednesday the 15th from 5-7 p.m. at Biega Funeral Home, 3 Silver St., Middletown.
