Students earn honors, degrees
MADISON — The Country School announces students who have earned academic honors for the second trimester. Those in grades six through eight who have demonstrated particularly strong effort in all their courses receive special mention at the end of each term.
The criteria is a minimum of four effort grades of 4 or better, two of which must come from English, math, history, science, and foreign language, with nothing below a 3. The criteria for the academic honors list is a minimum of four grades of A- or better with no grade below a B. Two of the four grades of A- or better must come from the above courses.

HARTFORD — The following local students graduated from Trinity College May 21: Skye Angela Joy-Yap Gasataya of Middletown earned a bachelor of science degree in psychology; and Ryan Lau of Middletown earned a bachelor of arts, summa cum laude, in philosophy.

CONWAY, S.C. — Coastal Carolina University recognized nearly 1,200 students during its in-person spring 2021 commencement ceremonies May 7 and 8. Among the graduates was Jack Bugg, a marketing major who lives in Clinton.

To qualify, students must earn a grade-point average of at least 3.5 with no grade lower than C. Full-time students must complete at least 14 credits in a semester, with at least 12 credits that have been graded on a letter grade basis to be eligible. Part-time students must complete at least six credits during a semester.
