Wed, Sept. 15, 2021 – Robert (Bob) Brown, longtime resident of both Guilford and Madison, passed away peacefully at Masonicare in Wallingford. He was 86 years old. Bob was born in New Haven, CT on November 17, 1934, son of the late Stephen Brown and Mary (Rourke) Brown. Predeceased by his sister Mary Brown and his brothers Thomas F. Brown and John J. Brown.

Bob leaves behind his niece, Elizabeth Robison (Bill) of MO, nephew, Bill (Anne) Brown of FL and great nephews and nieces, Thomas and Anna Robison of MO and Daniel and Caitlyn Brown of FL, as well as his step-nephew, Ronald Goldberg (FL) and first cousin Nancy Meskill (CT). He is also survived by many other cousins and great friends, especially the Egan family of West Haven.

Bob graduated from Notre Dame High School in West Haven in 1953 and then went on to Fairfield University. After college he joined the army and served abroad in France. Following his time in the Army, he returned to CT. He worked for many years in the non-profit sector and, later in life, worked at a law firm in New Haven.

Bob was a people person. He would start a conversation with every person that he came across and no one ever forgot him. He was full of funny jokes and welltimed sarcasm. His family lovingly referred to him as “the mayor”. However, as much as he loved people, he loved dogs more, especially golden retrievers. Bob was sad to leave Guilford this summer as he had a regular routine with so many people that gave him a warm smile or greeted him by name from the bank to the grocery store to his favorite breakfast spot. It was no surprise, though, he quickly made new friends in his new home at Masonicare

The family would like to offer a special thanks to all the caregivers at the Argonata at Masonicare in Wallingford for their service and dedication.
