Elizabeth Criscuolo, 87, a longtime resident of East Haven, passed away at her home on Wednesday, September 15, 2021. She was the wife of the late Alphonse Criscuolo. She was born in New Haven on December 29, 1933, to the late Benjamin and Sophie Savinelli Rapuano. Elizabeth had a great love for all animals and found her true calling at the East Haven Veterinary Hospital, where she worked as a Veterinary Technician for 25 years, until retiring in 1995. After leaving there, she worked as an assistant to Attorney Patricia CoFrancesc­o. She was also very loving and compassion­ate to everyone around her, especially in the way she took care of her husband and parents until their passing. She and her “heart of gold” will be remembered and missed by her loving family and friends. She is survived by her devoted son, with whom she lived, Mark Criscuolo of East Haven and a sister Susan DeVeau of Wallingfor­d. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. Besides her husband and parents, she was predecease­d by a son Anthony Criscuolo and a brother Benjamin Rapuano, Jr.

Funeral will leave the East Haven Memorial Longobardi – Brennan Funeral Home, 425 Main St., East Haven, 203-467-1708 Tuesday morning at 10:30 for a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated in the Parish of St. Pio of Pietrelcin­a at Our Lady of Pompeii Church, Foxon Rd., Tuesday morning at 11 am. Burial will be in All Saints Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home prior to the mass from 9:30 to 10:30.
