Josephine “Joanne” (DiNorscia) George

Josephine “Joanne” Perona (DiNorscia) George, 93, of North Haven, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 15th, 2021 at Yale-New Haven Hospital. She was the wife of the late Thomas George. Joanne was born in New Haven on January 16th, 1928 and was the daughter of the late Angelo and Mary Camarota Perona. She had worked for the former Bradlees Department Stores for many years until her retirement. Joanne was a very active member of the North Haven Senior Center where she enjoyed doing arts and crafts. She also enjoyed making wine, sewing, was an avid reader, but most of all, Grammie took much joy in babysitting her great grandson Maxwell, alongside her own son Rick. Watching Maxwell grow this past year was a blessing and they loved to play together. Mother of Rick DiNorscia and his wife Claire. Grammie of Lauren Lukacovic, her husband Brian, and their son Maxwell Dante Lukacovic. Predeceased by her first husband Joseph DiNorscia, a brother James Perona, sisters Connie Riccio and Ann Camarota.

The visiting hours will be Monday, Sept. 20th from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at The Havens Family, North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Avenue. Her funeral procession will leave the funeral home on Tuesday morning. Sept. 21st at 11:15 to St. Lawrence Cemetery, West Haven for a graveside service at 12 noon. www. northhavenfuneral.com
