Carl A. “Buddy” Lindsay, 70, of Hamden died suddenly at Yale-New Haven Hospital on Thursday, September 16, 2021 with his loving family by his side. He was the beloved husband of thirty nine years to Susan Giglietti Lindsay. Buddy was born in New Haven on October 12, 1950, a son of the late Albert and Marion Welz Lindsay, and was a lifelong Hamden resident. He was a 1969 graduate of Hamden High School where he starred on the hockey team. He went on to serve his country with the U.S. Army during the Vietnam Era. Buddy was an arborist for the Town of Hamden, Department of Public Works for twenty five years, retiring in 1993. After retiring from the Town of Hamden, Buddy owned and operated Lindsay’s Pressure Washing for the past twenty eight years. In addition to his wife Susan, Buddy is survived by two sons, Michael A. Lindsay and his life partner Jessica Mead, and Daniel C. Lindsay of Hamden, a brother, Albert Lindsay and his wife Carol of North Haven, his beloved grandson Brian Michael Lindsay, his loving furry four legged best friend Zoey, and many loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was predecease­d by his son Brian A. Lindsay. Buddy’s family will receive relatives and friends on Tuesday, September 21st from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Washington Memorial Funeral Home, 4 Washington Ave., North Haven. A funeral service will take place at the funeral home at 8:00 p.m., followed by military honors. Burial will be private.
