Raymond Diette, 63, longtime resident of Guilford, succumbed peacefully at home on September 10, 2021 to pancreatic cancer with remarkable acceptance and grace. He was the beloved husband of Sandra Diette, and is survived by brothers and sisters, Diane Wypychoski, Dr. James Diette, Dr. Kevin Diette (Susan), Patricia Correia (Jeff), and Maryann Diette. He was predeceased by parents Ernest and Helen Diette, and brother Ernest Diette, Jr. After graduating from Notre Dame High School, Ray obtained a B.S. degree from Providence College and an M.B.A. from Babson College. He enjoyed a fulfilling 40-year career as a Certified Public Accountant, the last 28 years with Peach & McPherson, CPA. Ray was a member of Race Brook Country Club for over four decades savoring countless rounds of golf with dear friends and family, where he served for numerous years as Treasurer and Board Member. Ray relished cheering for his Providence College Friars men’s basketball team as a dedicated season ticket holder. Most of all, he treasured time off spent at his vacation home in Naples, FL. Ray also leaves loving nieces and nephews, who he adored and admired, and who gave him great joy, Mary Kathryn Onacilla (Brian), Nancy Vargovchik (John), Danny Diette (Nicole), Julie Sartore (John), Chris Diette (Carly), Jackie Diette (Matt Assad), Courtney Ouellet, Collin Ouellet, and Sophia Ouellet. Ray will be forever loved and missed by all who knew him. He will not only be remembered for his quiet, loving, generous manner, but also for his great patience and understanding for all. His quick wit will never be forgotten, forever keeping us all smiling and laughing.
