Housatonic River Job Network meetings set
MILFORD — The Housatonic River Job Network will offer presentations on marketing and job search tools at its September meetings, according to a release.
— Sept. 21: Guest speaker will be Mark Troncone, senior IT project manager and project leader, and the topic will be “How to Create an Effective Marketing Plan.” Troncone will talk about a multi-component curriculum he developed for job seekers, one of the most important steps of which is having an effective marketing plan, the release said.
He will discuss the primary differences between a marketing plan and a resume; what a marketing plan is used for; and the six steps to creating such a plan.
— Sept. 28: Guest speaker will be Robert Frost, a career coach for The Workplace, and the topic will be “Platform to Employment,” a job search program sponsored by the Workplace that is free to all job seekers.
“Platform to Employment also provides employers with a new & innovative avenue to a skilled workforce,” the release said. “Businesses connected to the program receive a riskfree opportunity to evaluate & consider hiring participants in the program. During this 8-week trial, The WorkPlace pays all of the candidate’s wages. Whether or not an employer hires the candidate, there is no cost to the business.”
Both meetings take place at 7 p.m. at the Margaret Egan Community Center, 35 Matthew St. All health protocols will be observed, inclusing wearing of masks and socially distancing.
