Eversource conducting helicopter inspection­s

BERLIN — Eversource will be conducting aerial inspection­s of high-voltage electrical equipment on rights of way in the central part of the state, including Durham and Middlefiel­d.

This inspection is an important part of the company’s ongoing commitment to providing reliable electric service, according to a press release. The work involves the use of a helicopter equipped with heat-sensing, infrared scanning technology which can detect potential equipment issues before they occur, the company said.

The aircraft is blue and silver, with tail number N1431W.

Aerial inspection­s will take place through Friday, weather permitting, between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m., on utility rights of way in Berlin, Bethany, Bristol, Cheshire, Durham, Farmington, Meriden, Middlebury, Middlefiel­d, New Britain, Newington, Plainville, Plymouth, Prospect, Southingto­n, Waterbury and Wolcott.
