GAMES TO WATCH

Danbury at Staples, Wednesday. 4 p.m.: Danbury is No. 10 in the Class L/LL poll and Staples is No. 5. The Hatters have yet to allow a goal while Staples has only given up one.

Farmington at Conard, Friday, 3:45 p.m.: The top of the CCC is loaded with talented teams. If Conard wants to be among them this year, beating a very talented Farmington team would be a good place to start.

Ellington at Coventry, Friday, 3:45 p.m.: The top third of the NCCC annually produces state finalists in Class M and S. Since 2013, Ellington or Coventry appeared in a state final all but one year. You get it, it’s good soccer.

Greenwich at Warde, Friday, 4 p.m.: FCIAC schedule loaded this week with ranked matchups. Greenwich is No. 7 and Warde is No. 9 in the Class LL/L Poll. Greenwich has not beaten Warde in the regular season since 2017.

Fairfield Prep at Notre DameWest Haven, Saturday, 6 p.m.: It’s already a rivalry game but now throw in that NDWH has not allowed a goal and Prep has only given up one and is ranked No. 3 in the Class LL/L Poll and we could be in for a fun Saturday night on the pitch.
