CLINTON — What sends a chill down your spine?

That is the question the Henry Carter Hull Library hopes to help you answer.

Library staff will do so in an event billed as “an evening of macabre stories for adults,” from 6 to 8 p.m. Oct. 28, according to a release.

The “Spooky Mic Night” will be held at the library at 10 Killingworth Turnpike, Clinton.

During this event, participants can “read your original writing, recite a classic short story, or just listen,” with library staff noting that this is “if you dare.”

Readers are limited to five minutes, which is roughly three pages, and fiction and nonfiction is welcome, according to the release.

Registration is required. To sign up, visit www.hchlibrary.org, call the library at 860-669-2342, or email sarah@hchlibrary.org. If the weather is favorable, the event may be held outside, according to library staff. All COVID-19 safety rules apply.
