In need of trees
Something we all groan about but may never thought of as an actual “issue”: Why are there no trees in massive blacktop parking lots? But now with the temperature rising with climate change, the full insanity of this has hit home.
Another example: Why is it so hard to find a shady street or park to go for a walk in on a scorching hot afternoon? I live in Milford and have to drive to Beaver Brooks or Mondo Ponds to find a shady path. Thank God for those, but even so I have to walk around either one four times to get in my hour.
It’s pretty ironic when you consider that Connecticut is 61 percent forest. But try to find trees where people actually live.
