Shirley Bernice Blake , 94 of Wallingfor­d, passed away peacefully at Pilgrim Manor in Cromwell September 22nd, surrounded by loving family. She was born in Derby on July 12, 1927 and was the daughter of the late Homer and Helen McCarthy Blake. She was blessed with a special loving bond with her predecease­d sister, Doryce. They journeyed through life as best friends. Shirley is survived by her 6 nieces and nephews, Kevin , Kerry, Kelly, Kathy , Kasey , Kristopher and their families including 16 Grand nephews and nieces and 7 Great-Grand nephews and nieces. She is also survived by a wonderful group of neighbors and friends who will dearly miss Shirley.

Shirley was formerly employed at Griffin Hospital in Derby in the Radiology Department for 19 years.

She was a member of the Wallingfor­d Senior Center for many years. She enjoyed her years of retirement and the company of her beloved family and neighbors. Shirley is remembered by all for her kindness and generosity.
