Big East releases UConn’s league television schedule

The Big East released its 2021-22 men’s basketball TV schedule on Wednesday, and UConn will be featured prominently on FOX Sports, as well as one game on CBS.

The Huskies’ Feb. 27 game at Georgetown will be broadcast on CBS at noon. The rest of UConn’s 19 league games will be broadcast on either FOX (five games), Fox Sports 1 (11) or CBS Sports Network (two). The Huskies will have six games starting at 8:30 p.m. or later.

Meanwhile, UConn also announced its TV coverage and times for most of its non-conference slate, as well. The Huskies will make their only definite appearance of the season on ESPN for their Battle 4 Atlantis opener against Auburn at 2:30 pm. on Nov. 24. Their second Battle 4 Atlantis game against either Michigan or Loyola-Chicago, the following day, will be on either ESPN or ESPN2. The TV and time for UConn’s final game of the tournament, against a to-be-determined opponent, isn’t known yet.

Also, UConn will be featured on ESPN2 against St. Bonaventure in the Never Forget Tribute Classic (Dec. 11) at the Prudential Center. UConn’s seasonopener on Nov. 9 at home against Central Connecticut State will be broadcast via “whip-around coverage,” beginning on FS1. After about 20 minutes, FS1 will switch to another Big East game, and the whip-around will continue based on competitiveness of each game. Complete game coverage will be on the FOX Sports app.

The rest of UConn’s nonconference home games will air on FS2.

TV coverage is still to be determined include UConn’s game at West Virginia in the BIG EAST-Big 12 Challenge (Dec. 8) and the regular-season finale at home against DePaul (March 5). Home game splits between Gampel Pavilion and the XL Center, will be announced in the coming days.
