Public invited to tour new Beman Middle School

MIDDLETOWN — Middletown Public Schools will be offering guided tours of its brand new Beman Middle School Saturday from 10 a.m. to noon at 1 Wilderman’s Way.

Tours during this final public open house will begin at 10, 10:30, 11 and 11:30 a.m. that day, and will last approximat­ely 30 minutes, according to a press release.

Parking will be in the north lot across from the Board of Education, which is located at Hunting Hill Ave. Guests are asked to enter the building from the front bus loop.

Constructi­on is complete on the $87.23 million facility that houses 650 students in sixth through eighth grade. The new net-zero facility meets Connecticu­t High Performanc­e School standards (LEED Silver equivalent) and includes STEAM classrooms, an innovation lab, auditorium and multi-facility gym.
