Eastern Connecticu­t State University

WILLIMANTI­C — Eastern Connecticu­t State University students gained real-world experience this summer as interns working with a variety of companies. From small businesses to major corporatio­ns, museums to sports leagues, students worked in hybrid, remote and on-ground environmen­ts as they fulfill a range of functions, including video production, community outreach, IT support and more.

Connor Chute of Higganum, a junior who majors in business informatio­n systems, is an intern with Travelers Insurance in its Business Insights and Analytics Leadership Developmen­t Program.

Jacqueline Navickas of Colchester, a junior who majors in communicat­ion, is an assistant operations manager with Main Avent Sports and Apparel, a small business in Norwich.

Ashtin Solis of East Hampton, a senior who majors in criminolog­y, is an intern with the Connecticu­t Community for Addiction Recovery.

MANCHESTER, N.H. — Saint Anselm College has released the list of graduates for the 2020-21 school year. On May 15, Caroline Thompson of Portland graduated with a bachelor of arts in biochemist­ry.

University of New England

BIDDEFORD AND PORTLAND, Maine — The following students were named to the dean’s list for the 2021 spring semester at the University of New England. These students have attained a grade-point average of 3.3 or better out of a possible 4.0 at the end of the semester.

Northern Vermont University

JOHNSON AND LYNDON, Vt. — Northern Vermont University students Emily Clancy of Durham and Kiara Jacobs of Middletown were named to the dean’s list for the spring 2021 semester. Those who achieve between a 3.50 and 3.99 semester average are eligible.

Lasell University

NEWTON, Mass. — Danielle Coughlin, a Lasell University student from Cromwell, presented a project at the University’s Spring Symposium research showcase, “The Invention of Now.”

Coughlin shared a presentati­on on Nobel Laureate J.M. Coetzee and the ways in which the author’s work explores both the lure and agony of globalizat­ion.

The symposium is one of two annual research symposia held at Lasell. Student presentati­ons provide scholarly insights into a variety of industry topics, and showcase practical skills and career competenci­es across those industries.

Bates College

LEWISTON, Maine — The following students were named to the dean’s list at Bates College for the winter semester ending in May. This is a distinctio­n earned by students whose grade-point average is 3.88 or higher.

Maeve O’Brien of Essex, daughter of Daniel S. O’Brien and Casey L. O’Brien, is a 2017 graduate of Valley Regional High School who is majoring in psychology.

Cam Davis-Kania of Middlefiel­d, son of Robert Davis and Greg Conyers and David J. Kania, is a 2019 graduate of Cheshire Academy.

Abby Somosky of Old Saybrook, daughter of Stephen M. Somosky Jr. and Melissa E. Somosky, is a 2020 graduate of Glastonbur­y High School.

Cameron Johnson of Deep River, daughter of Kurt W. Johnson and Stacia Oakes Johnson, is a 2017 graduate of Valley Regional High School. She is majoring in psychology and minoring in education and Spanish.

Oaklea ElfstrAm of East Haddam, daughter of Bruce E. Elfstrom and Katharine B. Elfstrom, is a 2016 graduate of Williams School. She is majoring in environmen­tal studies and minoring in theater.
