Thrown rock hurts worker

Police seek informatio­n on incident at fair

DURHAM — Police are seeking the public’s help identifyin­g the individual who allegedly threw a rock at a Durham Fair volunteer while working an event last month.

The Durham resident state trooper began investigat­ing a complaint on Friday that a volunteer at the Durham Fair was injured while working at an event on Sept. 26 around 2 p.m.

The volunteer told police that someone threw a rock at them while they were working at the monster truck event. The volunteer received medical attention for swelling. Police said as the week went on, the injury became more serious and the volunteer sought additional treatment.

Medical personnel took an X-ray of the volunteer’s injury to their calf and ankle area. Police said the image showed trauma and the person was fitted with a boot.
