Library to present an afternoon with ‘Poe’

BRANFORD — Meet “Edgar Allan Poe” at the Blackstone Library, at 758 Main St. when actor Campbell Harmon will appear as the legendary author in a free, live performanc­e Saturday at 2 p.m.

The actor will share Poe’s poetry and prose. Calling Poe “the master of the macabre and father of the modern horror story,” attendees will learn about Poe’s “life, his work, his mysterious death, and his enduring influence on our culture in this afternoon of thrills and chills,” a news release said.

Harmon has performed as Poe since 2009, according to his biography. Harmon, a native of Kentucky and graduate of Yale Divinity School, lives in Wallingfor­d.
