Audrey Carranzo October 5, 2021

Audrey Carranzo, 91, of East Haven, passed away October 5, 2021 at home surrounded by loving family after a courageous battle with cancer. Wife of the late George Carranzo.

Loving mother of George “Midge” (Dawn) Carranzo of Florida and Robert (Donna) Carranzo of East Haven.

Daughter of the late Edward and Maria DelMonaco Cofranceso.

Sister of the late Theresa Saffiote, Lena Esposito, Margaret Ruggiero, Edward Cofrancesco, Frederic Cofrancesco, Richard Cofranceso, and Delores Guilen. Also survived by 8 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.

Prior to her retirement Audrey was a teaching assistant at ACES in North Haven. Audrey was a member of the Branford Evangelical Free Church in Branford. As parishioners attended service, Audrey watched over their children in the nursery. She was an aid in the friendship class helping adults with special needs. Audrey was a proud member of the Twilight Tappers dance troupe and continued tap dancing until the age of 89. Audrey cherished her many friendships over the years. Audrey also loved to read and could be found with a book in her hand most days.

There will be a celebration of life in her honor at the Branford Evangelical Free Church, 231 Leetes Island Road, Branford, on October 16, 2021, at 11 am.
