Louis J. Cappucci, Jr.
Louis J. Cappucci, Jr., 77, formerly of Monroe, passed away on Wednesday, September 29, 2021, at Chestelm Health Center in Moodus. Lou was the loving husband of 56 years to Susan E. Liebenow Cappucci. He was born in Bridgeport on June, 19, 1944, to the late Louis and Sophie Cappucci. Educated in the Bridgeport and Fairfield Public Schools, Lou graduated from Andrew Warde High School.
Lou was predeceased by his sisters, Irene Generaucos and Anne McGrath. Lou will be lovingly remembered for his generosity and his unique sense of humor by his wife and their children; son Louis, III and his wife Amanda of Florida; daughter Melissa Pouncey and her husband Raymond of Killingworth; and son Brian and his wife Brittany of Florida. Lou was also the proud grandfather and “Pop Pop” to Mattea, Raymond Jr, and Sophia Pouncey, and “Papa Lou” to Ashlyn, and Caleb Cappucci. He will be missed by his nieces and nephews.
Having spent his entire professional career in commercial construction at the Fusco Corporation, Lou retired in 2004 as the Vice President of Field Operations. An avid outdoorsman, Lou spent much of his retirement fishing the ponds, lakes, and rivers of Connecticut (and occasionally Florida too). He especially enjoyed fishing with his kids and grandkids.
A memorial service will be held on October 16th, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Peter’s Episcopal Church located at 175 Old Tannery Road, Monroe, CT. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Compassion International (compassion. com).
