Next ‘adventure’: Trinity Church concert
PORTLAND — Cellist Rebecca Roudman and the San Franciscobased blues and bluegrass band that she leads, Dirty Cello, will perform at the Trinity Church at 345 Main St. Oct 22 at 8 p.m.
“We’re a world traveling band, performing from Iceland to China, and have been up to some crazy adventures during the past year,” Roudman said in a prepared statement.
Some of those adventures, according to her announcement, have included: Facebook asking her to be in a commercial with actor Ken Jeong; playing for animals at a zoo, it going viral and ending up on TV news channels; performing for Google’s legal team; collaborating with cellists from all over the world; playing five-minute concerts via Zoom for corporate events; performing at a buffalo ranch, nudist resort, and block parties using a mobile stage the band built.
“Dirty Cello’s music is all over the map: funky, carnival, romantic, sexy, tangled, electric, fiercely rhythmic, and textured, and only occasionally classical,” according to an Oakland Magazine review.
Tickets are $18 in advance at bit.ly/dirtycellotrinitychurch and $20 at the door.
