Volunteers sought to lay wreaths at Conn. veterans cemetery
MIDDLETOWN — The public is being asked to consider donating to the annual remembrance wreath laying effort at the State Veterans Cemetery on Bow Lane in Middletown this December — or volunteering their time.
Wreaths will be placed on every veteran’s resting place Dec. 18, according to a press release. The goal is to lay 13,900 wreaths this year. To date, only one-quarter of the wreaths have been secured. Last year, the goal was met, the news release said.
Assistance will be needed that day at noon.
Donatations are $15 per wreath or, those who buy two will receive a third for free. To sign up, visit bit.ly/3p6vRCh.
“Remember the fallen, honor those who served, and teach children the value of freedom,” the news release said.
