The right choice for Cromwell mayor
We’ve all heard the saying, “if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.” In recent elections, I have seen many people buy into the narrative of, “if it ain’t broke, maintain it.” However, in the scheme of politics, I support the candidates who embody, “if it ain’t broke, build from it.” That is why I am eager to vote for Aigné Goldsby as Cromwell’s next mayor.
Aigné not only has the energy and determination to embrace Cromwell’s traditions and the things we do right in town, but she is ready to enhance the work of her predecessor. As Aigné has outlined throughout her campaign, the efforts she is advocating for are common values within the residents of Cromwell: keeping taxes low, standing up for our seniors, building more sidewalks, supporting small businesses and revitalizing our riverfront. With Aigné’s fresh perspective, I am confident she will build from the foundation of these community principles and aid significantly in the growth and expansion of our town.
Most importantly, Ms. Goldsby represents the future. Aigné is an inspiring example of a young woman in our state creating space for our future generations to get involved in politics and their communities. As a young woman myself, Aigné’s candidacy has showed me how important it is to have leaders like us at the municipal level. It allows younger folks to have more accessibility to their local government, all while showing us it is possible to run for office. Towns across our state, such as our neighbors in Middletown who elected Ben Florsheim as their mayor, have welcomed in young leaders who have proven to their constituents that they can excel and flourish in the job.
Please join me on Nov. 2 in voting for Aigné Goldbsy as our next mayor.
