$6M shoreline home has indoor resistance pool, 3-story guest house
The shingle-style home on 63 East Wharf Road in Madison looks like it could be set in the middle of the country. In reality, the 7,100 square-foot home overlooks Long Island Sound.
Listed for $6 million, the 12-year-old Madison home was built as a collaboration between Branford-based architect Robert Page and Madison-based builder William Plunkett & Associates, according to the listing.
Décor in the home was sourced from across the pond, tapping into the designs of London-based fabrics and wallpaper company Colefax and Fowler for textiles.
Situated on 6 acres of land, the East Wharf Road house is located in the Fence Creek area of Madison, according to the listing, and has southern exposure with views Salt Meadow Park and Long Island Sound. In addition to the views, the home’s exterior includes a heated pool with a waterfall and pool house, as well as a “three story 1,500-squarefoot guest house” that has a separate work shop and boat storage.
Inside the home, the listing notes there are four “private bedroom suites,” six full bathrooms and six fireplaces. According to William Pitt Sotheby’s International Realty listing agent Margaret Muir, the home also “features custom touches sourced from far and wide, with large spaces for entertaining.”
In addition to the outdoor recreation space, there’s also a game room inside the home that’s currently outfitted with a billiards table, a workout room and a room with an indoor resistance swimming pool.
