Brian Michael Gildea Esq. was born on November 1st 1939 in New Haven CT. He was the son of Thomas and Lillian Gildea, the 2nd eldest child of four, Thomas John, Maureen being the youngest and Raymond being the eldest. He died October 15th 2021.

Brian graduated from Saint Mary’s High School in 1953 where he was a three sport varsity athlete with swimming and basketball being his primary focus and participat­ing in the drama club. He served in the Air Force from 1958-1962 where he led the Blue Comet Drill Team.

From there he went on to attend New Haven University and graduated in 1964 with an Associates in Engineerin­g. He received a varsity letter in basketball, was a charter member of KPS Fraternity as well as member of the drama club. He then attended Providence College and graduated with a BA degree in 1967. He was involved in Intramural Sports, pre legal club and was president of the New Haven Club. His passion for law led him to Suffolk University Law School where he became a legal advisor to the Boston Building Commission­er graduating with a law degree in 1970. Brian went on to have an extensive and successful law career specializi­ng in immigratio­n law. His most memorable and proud moments were arguing cases before the Supreme Court.

Brian loved to travel abroad, he spent his extracurri­cular time cooking, enjoying music, watching sports and had a deep love for classic cars. Most of all he loved spending time with his family and cooking each weekend for all of us. He was a wonderful, loving, giving father, uncle and friend. His kindness, generosity and patience will be missed by all that he touched and knew.

He is survived by his daughter Larysa Gildea, his son Stefan Gildea, his daughter in law Jaime Gildea, his ex-wife and mother of his children Lubamyra Shumylo, his 5 grandchild­ren Levko Stacy, Mischa Stacy, Zarek Stacy, Bohdan Gildea, Kalynna Gildea and his 12 nieces and nephews.

A visitation will be held at The Celentano Funeral Home, 424 Elm St., New Haven, CT from 4:00-7:00pm Sunday October 24th 2021. Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 AM October 25th in Saint Mary’s Church, 5 Hillhouse Ave., New Haven CT.
