Robert C. Sorensen
Robert C. Sorensen, 88, of Woodbridge, passed away at his home on Saturday, October 23, 2021. Born in New Haven May 8, 1933, he was the son of the late Arthur W. Sorensen, Sr. and Florence Ennis Sorensen-Hunter. He is survived by his beloved wife, Georgianna Hubbell Sorensen, daughter Amy (John) Wood of Frankfort, IL, son Christian Sorensen, his former daughter-in-law Amy B. Sorensen, granddaughter Erin Sorensen, grandson Troy Sorensen (Kayla Ruge), and greatgranddaughter Eleanor Sorensen, all of Woodbridge, and his sister, Wilma Hunter of Charleston, SC. Robert was predeceased by his grandson Stephen Wood, and brothers Arthur W. Sorensen, Jr., Richard Sorensen, and Floyd Hunter, Jr.
A lifelong resident of Woodbridge, Robert truly lived a full life. A visionary man, he built many lasting relationships. He was compassionate, approachable, kind and generous, with a great sense of humor and a strong work ethic. He was a third generation owner/operator of his own school bus for over 60 years, known to his passengers as “Mr. Bob,” and also owned several other transportation businesses. He loved to plan trips and travel with his wife; together they saw the world.
Services for Robert will be private. Arrangements are in care of Beecher & Bennett Funeral Home, 2300 Whitney Ave., Hamden.
