Rebutting statements from Senate hopeful

- John Dornik Madison

Regarding the recent commentary by Leora Levy. Seldom have I seen such a display, of hubris and audacity.

Ms. Levy stated: “Back to the atrocities of Ukraine. Now enabled by Biden .... ” How dare she make such an outrageous statement? President Biden has done an outstanding job of rebuilding the Western alliance, after Trump’s attempts to dismantle it. Ms. Levy, how exactly did President Biden enable Putin? This Western alliance, reconstructed by Biden, is so far saving Ukraine and is doing the exact opposite of what you declared. If any American has enabled Putin, it would be Trump and his secretary of state, Pompeo. They have fawned over Putin and called him a genius. Even after all the unspeakable atrocities in Ukraine, they have yet to correct their disgusting statements.

Ms. Levy referred to us as “we freedom loving powerful democracies” and yet she identifies with the Republican party, Jan 6 not withstanding. Ms. Levy, if you would, please respond to the following:

Is Joe Biden the duly elected ⏩ president of the United States?

Do you believe the Capitol was ⏩ attacked on Jan 6 or just another day with tourists?

Do you believe Trump incited ⏩ the riots of Jan 6?

Please explain why the Republican ⏩ Party is trying to limit voting rights and making it more difficult to vote in many states.

Would you support Trump for ⏩ president?

You also brought up President Reagan. Reagan, as you may know, presided over an illegally funded war run by Oliver North, who ended up with a presidential pardon. Reagan was the first president since the end of WWII to increase the deficit. It had been going down every year since 1945. He gave tax breaks to the wealthy, increased the deficit and told everyone that it was trickle-down economics that would help the working class. Nothing could be further from the truth. Do you support fairness in our tax code, as President Biden is proposing so that billionaires do not pay a lower tax rate than teachers and firefighters?
