Buttonwood photo show explores colors of sunlight

- STAFF REPORTS

MIDDLETOWN — The Buttonwood Tree is featuring area photographer Donald Logie in its May art show titled “Water Music.”

Logie set out to chronicle the calm flow of water and energy of its colors, according to a news release. “All physical and emotional life comes from water,” the organization said.

“To the photographer, water is like a sponge, which absorbs and reflects whatever it comes in contact with. Through his photos of water from different natural sources, Donald explores color, which can come from sunlight hitting the water; sunlight bouncing off the bottom of a body of water; sunlight hitting objects in the water, under the water, by the water,” the news release said.

He also explores the “water’s calmness with its usual gentle flow, steady rhythm, and soothing sound. He said that the calmness imparted by water creates flow and direction to the energy generated by its color: ‘The water flows. So do we,’” The Buttonwood said.
