Wu Tang Clan-Nas tour making a stop in Connecticut
1990s hip-hop and rap legends Wu-Tang Clan and Nas are teaming up for a joint summer tour. The tour, titled the N.Y. State Of Mind Tour, will come to the Xfinity Theatre in Hartford on Friday, Sept. 9.
This will be the Wu-Tang Clan’s first show in Connecticut since 2019, according to setlist.fm. The group’s headlining show set for Mohegan Sun Arena in 2021 was canceled. Nas performed last year in Connecticut at Foxwoods.
Wu-Tang Clan and Nas join the growing list of performers on the Xfinity Theatre’s summer concert calendar, including Wiz Khalifa and Logic, Jack Johnson, Backstreet Boys, and Dead & Company.
They’re also among the numerous ’90s and early 2000s musicians performing in Connecticut this year.
While Wu-Tang Clan has kept a low profile in recent years outside of the Martin Shkreli case, in which the convicted hedge fund manager surrendered the only copy of Wu-Tang Clan’s “Once Upon a Time in Shaolin” in existence, their seminal 1992 album “Enter the Wu-Tang (36 Chambers)” was recently archived in the Library of Congress.
Meanwhile, Nas has been consistently putting out new work. He released two albums last year — “King’s Disease II” in August and “Magic” in December.
Tickets are currently on sale and start at $29.50 plus fees.
