MIDDLETOWN — Some college students in Connecticut are planning to walk out this Thursday to protest the Supreme Court’s potential decision to overturn Roe vs. Wade, which legalized abortion across the country.

The event at Connecticut College is being organized by the university’s feminist coalition, according to an organizer, while the gathering at Wesleyan has been put together by the Wesleyan Reproductive Advocacy and Legislation group, according to the nonprofit Wesleyan Engage.

Both rallies, held in conjunction with a series of other colleges across the country as part of a larger effort arranged through RFProtest, a student-led group, are planned for 5 p.m. Thursday.

Demonstrations have been held across the country, as well as the state, after a draft opinion by the Supreme Court to overturn the landmark abortion rights case was leaked earlier this week.

While Chief Justice John Roberts has confirmed the draft was authentic, he cautioned it a statement this week that it was not a final decision.

Rallies have been held in San Antonio, Los Angeles, Madison, Wis., and Minneapolis, as well as in Bridgeport, Norwalk, Stamford and New Haven.

A Westport activist group is also planning a demonstration for 4 p.m. on Sunday.
