Patricia Ann Cartelli, 73, of Middletown, CT. passed peacefully at her home to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, May 4, 2022 surrounded by her loving family. Patricia was a lifelong resident of Middletown.

She was the daughter of the late Anthony and Rose Cartelli (Morello) also of Middletown, CT.

Patricia is predecease­d by her son, Richard Stuart Jr. of Middletown.

Patricia is survived by her loving sister Jean Thrall (Cartelli) of Middletown.

Patricia is survived by her daughters Dawn Breault (Mercier) and husband Richard Breault of Meriden, Lisa Negron (Mercier) of Middletown, Kim Sanzaro (Mercier) and her husband Michael Sanzaro of West Hartford, and Brian Mercier of Middletown. Grandmothe­r to, Andrew Breault, Louis Scionti III and his wife Grace Scionti, Kayla Scionti, Brandon Negron, Shane, Nicholas and Nathan Sanzaro. Patricia is also survived by two great granddaugh­ters, Briella Negron and Alina Scionti.

Patricia’s story began in 1948 - born and raised in Middletown, graduated from Middletown High School, making fond memories with her sister and best friend, Jean.

Throughout her life she enjoyed family picnics, watching UConn women’s basketball, celebratin­g holidays, singing and worshiping her Lord with her church family. As a young women she worked at Wilcox, Crittenden & Co. for several years prior to becoming a mom of five children. After years of homemaking and raising her five children, Patricia went back to school to fulfill her desire to become a certified nurses aide. Patricia enjoyed working at Middlesex Health Care Center initially as a CNA, compassion­ately caring for the residents there. Patricia transition­ed to the medical receptioni­st position for the remainder of her employment until her retirement.

Patricia will be forever remembered for her meekness, kind heart, gentle smile, serene spirit and strength. She was a devoted mother, sister, and grandmothe­r and great grandmothe­r. She was truly loved, admired by all, and will be deeply missed and cherished.

The family wishes to thank the generous, warm hearted and caring staff of Middlesex Hospice for all their outstandin­g care.

Family and friends may gather this Monday, May 9, from 10:00 A.M.- 12:00 P.M. at D’Angelo Funeral Home in Middletown, CT. followed by services at 12:00 P.M. Burial directly following at Saint Sebastian’s Cemetery in Middlefiel­d, CT.
