Local college students graduate, earn honors

New England Institute of Technology

EAST GREENWICH, R.I. — New England Institute of Technology students Zachary T. Satagaj of Durham, who earned a bachelor of science degree; and Khadijah R. Scharborou­gh of Middletown, who earned a master of science degree, graduated May 1.

Assumption University

WORCESTER, Mass. — Assumption University honored students with academic awards at the annual spring honors convocatio­n on April 11, including Emma Ushchak, class of 2022, of Middletown, who received the department­al award for biotechnol­ogy and molecular biology. The event is an opportunit­y to recognize students who have excelled in their individual field of study.

University of Saint Joseph

WEST HARTFORD — The University of Saint Joseph held a senior medals ceremony for 37 students who completed the honors program and will be graduating with honors, including Elyse Arcidiacon­o of East Hampton.

Over the four years, these students have completed at least 18 credits in the honors program, including independen­t study and service-learning courses. They have also presented their work at conference­s, participat­ed in Mercy serve opportunit­ies, received extra funds for research opportunit­ies, and maintained at least a 3.25 GPA.

Washington University

ST. LOUIS, Mo. — Braeden Rose of East Hampton was named to the dean’s list for the fall 2021 semester at Washington University. Rose is enrolled in the College of Arts & Sciences. To qualify, students must earn a semester GPA of 3.6 or above and be enrolled in at least 14 graded units.

Western New England University

SPRINGFIEL­D, Mass. — Western New England University recognized graduating students for academic excellence within their fields of study during the College of Business senior awards ceremony April 28.

Isabella Lombardo received the Outstandin­g Student in Marketing Communicat­ion/Advertisin­g award, which recognizes a graduating senior selected by the faculty for excellence in their studies. Lombardo is graduating with a bachelor of science in business administra­tion in marketing communicat­ion/advertisin­g.
