TOP PERFORMERS

Sydney Adolfson, Newtown: The junior pitcher went 2-0, allowing three runs over 14 innings pitched while striking out 23.She threw a complete game shutout against New Milford and drove in five between the two games.

Niamh Dougherty, St. Joseph: The junior had eight hits in two wins over Trumbull and Westhill with two home runs, two triples, and three doubles. She had five RBIs and six runs and has homered in three straight games.

Kat Gallant, Masuk: Gallant went 3-0 for Masuk, allowing just five hits, two walks and one earned run while striking out 47 in 17 innings pitched. Gallant also homered against Barlow and Weston.

Brooke Hickman, Haddam-Killingwor­th: Went 2-0 with a ninestrike­out performanc­e against Valley Regional and a seven-strikeout relief appearance against Oxford. In the Oxford game, the sophomore had three hits, including a home run, and a double with two RBIs.

Amelia Jacob, Shepaug: The freshman tossed 19 innings in three wins, allowing just three earned runs on 13 hits and one walk while striking out 46.She now has 151 Ks in 67 innings with a 0.94 ERA.

Madison LaValle, Maloney: The senior had a two-home run game against Wethersfie­ld in which she had three RBIs, four runs and a double.

Grace Lurz, Cheshire: Lurz did not record an out in seven at bats last week to raise her season batting average to .604. She had four runs and had two RBIs to go along with two intentiona­l walks.

Brianna Pellicone, Newtown: The sophomore drove in five runs and scored four times in Newtown’s two games this past week. She homered, tripled and doubled. She now has four home runs and is hitting .451.

Haley Pucci, Danbury: Went 4-0 with 53 strikeouts in 28 innings pitched to raise her season total to 208 Ks. She allowed just four earned runs in those 28 innings and had a complete game shutout against Darien.

Karrissa Spring, Cheshire: Threw 14 innings, allowing just two hits while striking out 23 in a 2-0 week. Spring no-hit Lauralton Hall and went 5-for-6 with six RBIs.

Kristie Zator, Parish Hill: Had five hits, including two home runs and a double, in two games last week with 10 RBIs and six runs.

Lauren Wasikowski, St. Joseph: The senior threw two no-hitters this past week. She threw five innings against Westhill while walking three and striking out nine and no-hit Trumbull through seven innings, allowing two unearned runs on a pair of errors and a walk while striking out 11.

GAMES TO WATCH

Haddam-Killingwor­th at Cromwell, Friday, 4 p.m.:

A rematch between the current top two teams in the Shoreline Conference. No. 10 H-K defeated Cromwell 7-0 in the first meeting.

Cheshire at East Haven, Friday, 4:30 p.m.:

No. 8 East Haven defeated Cheshire 5-2 in the first meeting, but that is far from the whole story. East Haven has losses to Amity and Waterford, while Cheshire defeated Amity and Waterford. East Haven also defeated Shelton, which beat Cheshire earlier in the season.

Fairfield Ludlowe at Danbury, Monday, 4 p.m.:

Danbury is the only undefeated team in the FCIAC and has defied expectatio­ns. The final regular season test for Danbury and Haley Pucci will be No. 1 Fairfield Ludlowe.

Masuk at Newtown, Monday, 4:30 p.m.:

Newtown currently sits in second place in the SWC standings behind No. 3 ranked Masuk. Newtown has won eight straight and remembers losing to Masuk 1-0 last year.
