St. Vincent DePaul to host ‘Open Your Heart’ benefit
MIDDLETOWN — St. Vincent de Paul Middletown is preparing for its fourth annual signature event, “Open Your Heart: A Tasty Celebration of Middletown Area’s Finest Cuisine!” to benefit the soup kitchen and Amazing Grace Food Pantry.
It will take place June 9 from 6 to 9 p.m. at Saint Clements Castle, 1931 PortlandCobalt Road in Portland.
Guests can sample appetizers, entrees and desserts from over 28 of the area’s top restaurants and caterers, according to a press release, including Amici, Brewbakers, Café Luna, Cake, Batter, & Roll, Cantina Café Ristorante, Connecticut Wedding Group, Cooking Company, El Pulpo & Tapas Bar, Haveli India, LaBoca, Lino’s, Lyman’s Orchard Farm Store, Red Fox, Stella D’oro, Vero Cucina Rustica.
Award to be given out include the Community Partnership Award to Celeste Cremin-Endes from River Valley Services, Brian Young of the Parks Department, and Fellowship Church, represented by the Rev. Richard Pancoast and Lara SantaMaria.
Brian Swan will receive the Leadership Award. Volunteer awards will be given to Michael Danczuk of the soup kitchen, and Sandy McKinnon and Andy Rapp at the food pantry.
