Mary “Mariuccia” (Salafia) Russo

God in his infinite love and mercy took back one of his angels on earth.

Mary “‘Mariuccia” (Salafia) Russo, age 76 beloved wife of Giovanni Russo passed away on May 10, 2022, with her family by her side after a short illness.

Born in Melilli, Sicily, Mary came to the States at the age of thirteen. She worked for many years at EIS manufacturing in Middletown. She was last employed and retired from Middlesex Memorial Hospital.

Mary was a kind, selfless, caring wife, mother, Nonna, daughter, sister, and aunt. She loved her family fiercely and loved spending time with them.

She enjoyed listening to Luciano Pavarotti and Andrea Bocelli and was very interested in current world events.

Mary was a devotee of San Sebastiano, Patron Saint of Melilli. She was a member of Saint Sebastian Church in Middletown.

Mary was predeceased by her beloved father, Sebastiano Salafia.

Mary is survived by her loving children Tina and husband Sebastian Milardo, her son Sebastian “Seby” and her much-adored grandchildren, Vincent and Alessandra.

Mary also leaves behind her dearly loved and loving mother, Lina (Girgenti) Salafia, sisters Tina Salafia, Angela Spaman, Judy David, brother-in-law Nicola David, and several nephews and nieces.

At Mary’s request, her services will be private.

In lieu of flowers donations in her memory may be made to the Renovation Fund of St. Sebastian Church, Middletown. D’Angelo Funeral Home, 22 South Main St., is in charge of arrangements.
