Norwalk man pleads guilty to assault in Stamford restaurant

- By Pat Tomlinson

STAMFORD — A Norwalk man pleaded guilty Wednesday to assaulting a man in the bathroom of a popular Stamford restaurant last year.

Jordan Fields, 27, pleaded guilty to reduced charges of third-degree assault, conspiracy to commit third-degree assault and two counts of first-degree reckless endangerment as a part of an agreement with state prosecutors on Wednesday in state Superior Court in Stamford.

As a part of the agreement, Fields will serve 30 days in jail. If he finishes the jail sentence without incident, he will then receive a suspended sentence and unspecified amount of probation.

If he picks up any tickets or citations while incarcerated or fails to show up to his next court date, Judge Gary White said he faces up to four years in prison.

Fields was one of three men arrested on July 6 in connection to an assault in the bathroom at a restaurant on Towne Street in Stamford.

According to the warrant, Fields and two others — Shyquinn Dix, 28, and Parish Rowell, 24, both of Stamford — allegedly followed a man into the bathroom at the restaurant and attacked him.

At the time, Stamford police Capt. Richard Conklin said investigators believed the man may have been pistol whipped during the attack.

The man suffered a laceration on his head and possible facial fractures to his face, according to the warrant.

During the assault, one of the suspects allegedly fired a bullet into the bathroom wall, the warrant said. No one is believed to have been struck by the gunfire, police said at the time, adding that they believed the attack was a “targeted” effort by Fields and his alleged conspirators.

Last month, Dix and Rowell both pleaded guilty in connection to the attack.

Dix pleaded guilty to attempt to commit first-degree assault. He was handed a 10year prison sentence suspended after three years and five years of probation.

Rowell pleaded guilty to attempted firstdegree assault and violation of probation. Under this agreement, he was handed $5,000 fine, a 10-year suspended prison sentence and one year of probation.

Fields is scheduled for sentencing at Stamford Superior Court on June 16.
