May 19, 2022
Stella G. Barone, 103, of West Haven, died on May 19, 2022. Born in New Haven on May 3, 1919, a daughter of the late Frank and Marianina (Marini) Georgine. Survived by her loving children Georgine (Michael) Trosuk of Killingworth and Lynda (Ed) Barone of Westbrook; grandchildren Lori (Doug) Wrightington, Alyssa (Mike) Bondi, Christopher (Laurie) Trosuk & Andrea (Fred) Doyle; as well as greatgrandchildren Douglas (Melissa) Wrightington III, Brittany Fuller, Robert & Mikaela Trosuk, and C.J. & Ricky Doyle. Predeceased by Robert Barone, her beloved husband of 63 years; as well as sister Ann Montesi.
Stella spent many enjoyable years working as a cosmetologist, while also excelling as a sales associate at the former Alexander’s department store in Milford. Seemingly never one to sit idle, Stella enjoyed a host of various activities and those who were amongst her. She long remained an active participant in the community; namely the Marchegian Society of New Haven, the West Haven Library quilting classes whereby she proudly showcased her many awards earned at the Orange Country Fair, and the West Haven High School adult painting and rug hooking classes. Stella held her faith in high regard, as illustrated by her steadfast membership to St. Lawrence Church of West Haven. Above all, family was of prominence for Stella, and her legacy will remain that of a loving
mother, grandmother, greatgrandmother, sister, and friend to those she shared her incredible life with.
Arrangements have been entrusted to West Haven Funeral Home at the Green.
Calling hours will take place on Monday, May 23rd, from 4 to 6 o’clock. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, 10 o’clock, in St. Lawrence Church, the procession departing the funeral home at 9:45am. Interment will immediately follow in St. Lawrence Cemetery.
The family would like to extend a warm thank you for the loving care extended to Stella by the staff at Mary Wade of New Haven, and Connecticut Hospice. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Mary Wade. To leave an online condolence, you may visit www.westhavenfuneral.com
