Mrs. Evelyn Manjoney, age 95 of Woodbridge, wife of the late Dr. Richard Manjoney, died on May

17, 2022 surrounded by her loved ones. Evelyn, a Bridgeport native, was born to the late Anthony and Carmela (Riccio) Petrucelli. She graduated from Harding High School and her career of choice was nursing. She received her degree from St. Vincent’s Hospital School of Nursing in 1947 and became a dedicated member of the Labor and Delivery staff. There she met her future husband when he was an intern. They were married on May 23, 1953 at Holy Rosary Church in Bridgeport. They spent the following two years in Washington D.C. when her husband was called for active duty in the United States Air Force, and a third year in Jacksonvil­le, FL where he completed his medical training. After returning to CT they lived in Trumbull for a short time

before settling in Orange where they spent 43 years,

before downsizing and moving to West Haven. Evelyn spent the last four years of her life at Coachman Square in Woodbridge.

She is survived by her children Mary Chervenak (Robert) of Cheshire, Richard Manjoney, Jr. (Rosanne Schipani, M.D.) of Andover, MA, and her cherished grandchild­ren Matthew Chervenak (Laura), and

Jaime and Rachel Manjoney, as well as many nieces and nephews. She was predecease­d by her four siblings Martha D’Apice, Patrick Petrucelli, Laura Elias and Anthony Petrucelli.

Evelyn loved spending time with family and friends and the holidays were always special to her. She was an excellent cook and well known for her delicious desserts. She enjoyed bridge and played weekly for years with several different bridge groups. She and her husband enjoyed traveling and her favorites were a Mediterran­ean cruise and visits to Rome.

A Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, May 25, 2022 at 11 am at Holy Infant Church, Orange. There are no other services.
