MIDDLETOWN — Road closures have been announced for Middletown’s Fourth of July festivities to be held July 2 at both Harbor Park on Harbor Drive and the front lawn of the municipal building at 245 deKoven Drive from 5 to 10 p.m.

There will be food vendors on lower Court Street, and deKoven and Harbor drives, according to a press release.

Southbound traffic at the deKoven Drive and Washington Street/Route 66 intersection will be blocked from 10 a.m. to 11 p.m.

Other closures

Court Street between Melilli Plaza and deKoven Drive, 2 to 11 p.m.

Harbor and deKoven drives, 7 to 11 p.m.

Dingwall Drive, between Metro Square and deKoven, 7 to 11 p.m.

MLK Way, between Metro Square and deKoven, 7 to 11 p.m.

River Road, between Harbor

Drive and Walnut Street, 7 to 11 p.m.

Eastern Drive, between Silver Street and River Road (southbound traffic only), 7 to 11 p.m.

Access to Eastern Drive will be via Walnut Street to River Road.

Motorists can park at the following locations: Main Street, municipal parking lots , the commuter lot on Eastern Drive, Connecticut Valley Hospital grounds on Silver Street, and Jackson Corrugated lot, with access from Walnut Street to River Road.

Handicapped parking will be available at the south lot of Harbor Drive and upper City Hall parking lot.

Fireworks can be seen from the City Hall and harbor areas as well as the grounds of CVH.
