Knowling helps lift Yale over Harvard

Matt Knowling had 18 points and Yale beat Harvard 68-57 on Friday night in Boston.

Knowling had seven rebounds for the Bulldogs (15-6, 5-3 Ivy League). John Poulakidas scored 13 points, shooting 4 for 11, including 3 for 7 from beyond the arc. EJ Jarvis finished 5 of 11 from the field to finish with 12 points.

Justice Ajogbor finished with 12 points and two blocks for the Crimson (1210, 3-5). Harvard also got 10 points, three steals and three blocks from Chris Ledlum. In addition, Luka Sakota finished with 10 points and two steals.

Quinnipiac 66, Fairfield 51: At Hamden, Ike Nweke scored 18 points as Quinnipiac beat Fairfield 66-51 on Friday.

Nweke added eight rebounds for the Bobcats (17-6, 8-4 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference). Luis Kortright scored 12 points and added six rebounds and six assists. Dezi Jones recorded 11 points and shot 4 for 10, including 3 for 7 from beyond the arc.

Allan Jeanne-Rose led the Stags (10-12, 6-6) in scoring, finishing with 17 points and three steals. Fairfield also got 10 points, six rebounds and four steals from Jalen Leach. In addition, Supreme Cook had six points and seven rebounds.

Men’s hockey

No. 2 Quinnipiac 3, No. 8 Harvard 0: Yaniv Perets stopped 25 shots to lead the Bobcats to an ECAC Hockey win in Cambridge, Mass., on Friday.

Skyler Brind’Amour opened the scoring for Quinnipiac (21-3-3, 13-2-0 ECAC) with a power-play goal in the second period. Christophe Fillion and TJ Friedmann added thirdperio­d goals for the Bobcats.

Harvard fell to 15-6-1 (134-0 ECAC)

Yale 4, Clarkson 0: At New Haven, Luke Pearson made 27 saves to record his first career shutout for the Bulldogs on Friday.

Reilly Connors, Ian Carpentier, Niklas Allain and Kalen Szeto all scored for Yale (4-14-4, 3-10-2 ECAC).

Women’s basketball

Harvard 67, Yale 54: At New Haven, Nyla McGill scored a team-high 17 points for the Bulldogs (10-11, 4-4 Ivy) in an Ivy League loss on Friday. Elena Rodriguez led all scorers with 19 points for Harvard (13-7, 6-2 Ivy).

Women’s hockey

No. 6 Quinnipiac 8, Dartmouth 0: At Hanover, N.H., Logan Angers finished with 14 saves in a shutout ECAC win over the Big Green on Friday.

Eight different skaters scored for Quinnipiac (255-0, 15-3-0).

No. 2 Yale 10, Union 1: At Schenectad­y, N.Y., Charlotte Welch and Jordan Ray each recorded hat tricks for the Bulldogs in an ECAC win on Friday.

Emma Seitz added two goals for Yale (22-1-1, 15-1-1 ECAC), while Carina DiAntonio and Anna Bargman also scored.
