Frances Helen Carey entered into rest on January 26, 2023. She was the beloved wife of the late Thomas F. Carey for 68 years. Frances is survived by her daughters: P. Anne Carey of Phoenix, AZ (Ray Schwartz) and Nancy Weiss of Denver, CO (David), her grandchild­ren: Jason and Justin Millard, Travis Winter, Beth Federico, and Katie Braley, and her great-grandchild­ren: Hunter, Ahvah, Lucy and Avery. She is survived by sisters: Joan Doohan of NY and Linda McMonigle of CT, brother George Budzinack of CT, and several nieces and nephews. She was predecease­d by her grandson Michael M. Weiss, brothers Clarence, Clayton, Donald, Kenneth, Wesley, Brendan, Gordon, and sister Leora Douglass Spring. Frances was a nurse for several years in Derby and Ansonia, CT and an active member of St. Mary’s Church in Derby. She moved to Denver, CO with her husband in 1991 where she volunteere­d at Queen of Peace Parish and assisted with a health clinic housed at the Church for several years. She has resided at Brookdale Assisted Living for the past eight years where she was beloved by residents and staff. She was also beloved by her children, grandchild­ren and greatgrand­children and will be greatly missed. The James T. Toohey & Son Funeral Home, 92 Howe Ave., Shelton has been entrusted with arrangemen­ts which will be announced at a later date.
