Robert Louis Haddad, 76, of Rocky Hill, CT, passed away on February 22, 2023, after a long battle with Parkinson’s and Dementia. He was born in Willimanti­c, CT, the son of the late Louis and Evelyn Haddad.

Bob is survived by his beloved wife of 51 years, Elaine, and sons Robert Haddad of Atlanta, GA and Steven Haddad and his wife Erica of Wallingfor­d, CT. He also leaves his cherished grandchild­ren, Sam, Ryan and Amelie and brother Paul Haddad and wife Nancy of West Hartford, CT. As “Uncle Bob”, he was very close to his nieces and nephews: Kathy (Rich) Balogh, Valerie (Brian) Cassidy, Missy (Mike) Onorato, Cristina ( Josh) Curry, Frederick (Tracy) Haddad II, and Paul Haddad II. He was predecease­d by his brother Frederick Haddad and his wife Regina.

Bob earned his B.S. and master’s degrees from Eastern Connecticu­t University. He served for 37 years in the Windham School system as a well-known Math Teacher, Coach and Athletic Director. Coaching Cross Country, and Track and Field at Windham High School was his passion. He establishe­d the Indoor Track Program, The Windham Invitation­al Cross Country Meet, and led his teams to many State Championsh­ips.

Over the years he was the recipient of numerous awards including Coach of the Year on the State, Regional and National Levels. He was also inducted into the Connecticu­t Coaches Hall of Fame. His care and concern for his athletes went far beyond “regular hours”. The track at Windham High School is named in his honor.

Bob’s family will receive family and friends on Wednesday, March 1, 2023, from 5:00pm to 7:00pm at the Potter Funeral Home, 456 Jackson Street, Willimanti­c. Burial and a Celebratio­n of Life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Neuro Challenge Foundation for Parkinson’s, 772 Apex Rd.
