Alice Romanik

Alice M. Gorecki Romanik, 100, of Hartford passed away peacefully December 27, 2022, in Avery Heights Health Care Center. She was the wife of the late Victor J. Romanik for 45 years. Alice was born in New Haven on September 23, 1922, a daughter of the late Stanley and Katherine Paterak Gorecki. She had been employed in the accounting department of the Yale University Alumni Fund for 23 years before retiring. Cherished mother of Kathryn Bevan and Donald (Margaret) Romanik. Grandmother of Rev. David (Sarah Beth) Romanik, James (Harley Jones) Romanik, Alexandra Bevan and Rhys (Maire Catherine) Bevan. Great-grandmother of Cecilia, Elizabeth, Grace, and Betty. Alice was predeceased by her husband, her sister Helen Pusvaskis, and her son-in-law John Bevan.

Alice could readily be described as a force of nature. Those who knew and loved her will remember Alice for her joyful spirit, verve, and uncanny ability to remember and care about the details of people’s lives. She continued to make friends and touch people’s lives until her final days, and those who had privilege of knowing Alice will miss her deeply.

Visiting hours will be held Saturday, March 18, 2023, from 8:15 to 9:15am in the Lupinski Funeral Home, Inc. 821 State Street, New Haven, concluding with a brief service from the Book of Common Prayer. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. Stanislaus Church at 10am. Burial will follow in St. Lawrence Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Alice’s name may be made to a charity of your choice.
