Marlborough man in custody after Tennessee bomb threat
MARLBOROUGH — A local man who police say is responsible for making a false bomb threat in Tennessee was arrested Thursday.
Connecticut State Police troopers took Mark Henry Frakl, 49, into custody at his Dickinson Road home on a fugitive from justice charge. His bail was set at $500,000, according to state police.
Investigators from the Hendersonville Police Department in Tennessee have a warrant for his arrest on charges of false report of a bomb threat and harassment, Connecticut State Police said.
Frakl was taken to the Troop K barracks in Colchester to be processed and taken to the Hartford Correctional Center. He is scheduled to appear Friday in state Superior Court in Manchester.
Troopers said Hendersonville police contacted them about 3 p.m. Thursday and asked for help finding Frakl.
According to the Hendersonville Police Department, the Hendersonville Public Library received 14 threatening emails sent from the same account over a short period of time.
The messages referenced “death and blowing up the building,” the Tennessee police department said.
Detectives were able to quickly identify a suspect, police said, and “with the extraordinary cooperation of the Connecticut State Police, the suspect was verified to be in the state of Connecticut and contact was made to further the investigation.” They obtained a warrant for Frakl’s arrest Thursday.
Hendersonville police said Thursday that “as of this time, investigators have not revealed any ties between Frakl and entities within the state of Tennessee.”
