Texas Roadhouse starting job interviews
CROMWELL — It will take 220 people to run the new Texas Roadhouse restaurant expected to open at the end of March in the shopping plaza anchored by a ShopRite supermarket at 55 Shunpike Road, and interviewing of applicants will start on Jan. 27, the company says.
Some 60% of the new jobs will be part-time and 40 percent fulltime, the company added in response to emailed questions from the Press.
“Pay varies based on experience and position,” it said.

Starting Jan. 27, interviews will be conducted at the Cromwell
restaurant from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturdays and from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., Monday through Friday, the company said.
“We are always looking for
legendary people to join our team, but we expect to be fully staffed a couple weeks before opening,” it added.
“Training varies by position,” the company said. “We take pride in our made-from-scratch food and legendary service, which requires detailed training for our team members.”
A fact sheet for journalists on the Texas Roadhouse website gives a taste of the chain’s culinary emphasis, saying it is famous for “Hand-Cut Steaks, Fall-Off-The-Bone Ribs, MadeFrom-Scratch Sides, and FreshBaked Bread.”
The Cromwell restaurant will cater to the dinner crowd Monday through Thursday, with hours of operation of 3 to 10 p.m., according to a document submitted to the town’s Planning and Zoning Commission. At the end of each week, it will open earlier to serve lunch, with hours of 11:30 a.m. to 11 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 11:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Sunday.
