Mark A. Gasparini, of New York City, age 63, entered eternal rest on February 16, 2024, at Connecticu­t Hospice in Branford, surrounded by his family and friends. Mark was born in Derby on December 8, 1960, son of the late Aldo J. and Kathryn Pascuzzo Gasparini. He grew up in Derby and attended Derby High School, graduating in 1979. Mark went on to attend Bryant College, earning his Bachelor’s degree in accounting. He lived and worked for the past thirty years in Manhattan, having many leadership, and high-profile positions at GMHC, MTA, Lambda Legal and Brooklyn Botanical Garden. Mark loved the beach, choosing to spend many summers on Fire Island visiting his large group of friends and spending time with family. He never missed the opportunit­y to support his niece and nephew at religious and sporting events or spend time with family for holiday gatherings. Family and friends remember Mark as sharp-witted, intelligen­t, loyal, and loving. He liked cars, attending automotive events and socializin­g for any occasion. Mark will be lovingly missed. Finnucan of Hamden and his nephew, Steven Genna of Hamden, along with many cousins and a large network of friends. He was predecease­d by his partners, Jim Barbagallo (1996) and Charles Pease (2023). Burial will be private. A memorial service in New York City will be announced by the family on a later date.
