Jennifer Treat Bonamico, 58, beloved wife of Carmelo “Carl” Bonamico, began her new life on April 10, 2024. She was born in New Haven, CT, on September 30, 1965, to Robert and Jeanette (Testori) Treat of Middlefiel­d.

Jennifer grew up in Middlefiel­d, attended Regional 13 schools and graduated from Mercy High School, Class of 1983. She attended the University of Rhode Island and received a Bachelor of Science Degree and certificat­ion as a Dental Hygienist. She had a 38-year career as a dedicated Hygienist and also a Certified Personal Trainer. Jennifer loved traveling and she and Carmelo made numerous trips (56) in the United States, Europe and the Caribbean during their 34-year marriage. Jenn also enjoyed her flowers, music and photograph­y and compiled an electronic library of over 14,000 pictures of her life with Carmelo, family and friends.

In addition to her husband, Jennifer is survived by her parents, Bob and Jeanette, her brothers, Matthew A. Treat (Holly) and Michael E. Treat (Alexis), as well as her mother-in-law and father-in-law, Antoinetta and Natale Bonamico. Jennifer is also survived by her brothers-in-law and her sisters-in-law, Nicholas and Patricia Giardina and Stuart and Maria Woods. She will be cherished in the memories of her nieces and nephews: Andrew, AJ, Nicholas and Caroline Treat, Daniel and Sam Giardina and Melissa Morello. Jennifer was predecease­d by her sister, Kelly Anne Treat.

During her illness and home hospice, Jennifer was supported by many friends and relatives. The family wishes to thank them all for their prayers and kindness. Special thanks to her close friends, Renee, Liz, Brenda, Adam, Allison, Johnny, Kurt, Janelle and Diane. Their visits to Yale New Haven Hospital, Gaylord, the Masonic Home and Home Hospice were an inspiratio­n to Jennifer and all our family.

Her husband, Carmelo, provided loving daily care for the term of her Home Hospice. Jennifer’s family would also like to thank the doctors and staff at Smilow Yale New Haven Hospital, Gaylord Hospital, Masonic Home and Home Hospice for the kind and compassion­ate care provided over the past 14 months. A special thanks to Tom and his staff during the home hospice care.

A Graveside Service will be held on Wednesday, April 17, 2024, at 10:00 a.m., at Middlefiel­d Cemetery. The family will receive visitors on Tuesday evening, April 16, 2024, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., at the B.C. Bailey Funeral Home, 273 S. Elm St, Wallingfor­d.
