Stanley G. Drenzek of Rockfall, husband of the late Marilyn Eldridge Drenzek, passed away on Tuesday, May 7, 2024. He was born on February 2, 1934, in New Britain to the late Stanley G. and Helen (Polaski) Drenzek and recently celebrated his 90th Birthday. He lived on 135 Smith St., helped run the family store, spoke Polish, and worshiped at Sacred Heart Church. He graduated from New Britain High School and attended his high school reunions up until the 60th . He worked at New Britain Plumbing and Supply for close to 40 years. After retirement, he worked at the East Berlin Post Office as a mail carrier. He was a parishione­r of and an offertory collector for St. Pius Church in Middletown. He served in the Army stationed in Germany and was a proud Veteran. He was a past member of the Polish Club in Middletown and the Kosciuszko Society in Rockfall. He was an avid bowler, enjoyed Autumn trips to Vermont with Marilyn, spent summer vacations in Westbrook and enjoyed trips to the casino with friends and family. He swam at the Middletown YMCA, played cards competitiv­ely and was the BINGO caller at Sugarloaf for several years. He is survived by his brother, Richard “Cody” Drenzek (Kay) of Chapel Hill, North Carolina and their children David, Dana and Steven and their families. He leaves his two sons, Jeff (Tara Moore) of Portland (formerly of Middlefiel­d) and Craig (the late Penny Nosek) of Southingto­n. He leaves his grandchild­ren, Jaime (Rick) Laferriere of Plantsvill­e, Kara (Zach) Pedersen of Middle Haddam, Taylor Drenzek of North Carolina, and Luke (Kaitlyn Salisbury) Drenzek of East Haven . He leaves his great-grandchild­ren, Emmie and Sam Pedersen and Payton, Reese and Brielle Laferriere.

He leaves his relatives Judy Eldridge Magnano of Moodus, Cathy Eldridge and Shirlee Eldridge of Middletown, Sandy and Robert (Roz) Eldridge of Cromwell, Gerald (Buster) and Ellen Eldridge of Windsor, Anne Eldridge of Florida, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predecease­d by his wife, Marilyn, his sister and brother-in-law Patricia (Pat) Doucette, and brothers-inlaw Dickie (Ben), David, and Ralph Eldridge, and Louis Magnano. His family would like to thank the following caring and compassion­ate people: The Middlefiel­d Volunteer Fire Company, the Veterans Affairs especially Dr. Rathier, Lisa G., Alysha D., Josh and Nina L., Middlesex Hospital, The Village Green of Bristol and his friends Dennis O., Mike A., Claire P., and Rockfall Sugarloaf neighbors past and present Pete S., Brenda, Amanda, Antoinette, Pam, Jerry T., Jerry C., Elaine, Kathy, Joanne, Jenn, Sonia, Henry and his friends at Trackside Rockfall and Ghezzi’s Market and more. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday (May 14th) at 10 a.m. at Biega Funeral Home, 3 Silver St., Middletown. Burial will follow in Middlefiel­d Cemetery.
