The Modesto Bee - - Local -

Eloise was born August 16, 1940 in Telephone, Texas to loving parents Vivian and Bessie Kilgore. At 78 years old, she had been a resident of Modesto for 65 years. Eloise was a former elementary school teacher of 27 years who taught in a time when her creativity could flourish and inspire the students she taught. She was happily married to Duane Palecek for 58 years. Their love of their children, grandchildren, camping, and each other served as a great example of what a couple can accomplish. Over the years, even as a young couple, she and her husband made it a priority to take in her siblings to give them an opportunity to better themselves. Eloise was an avid reader as well as a lover of history. She was always there when anyone was in need. After she retired she enjoyed working in her yard, camping with her husband, and participating as a member of a local camping club. On November 2, 2018 Eloise succumbed to her battle with Alzheimer’s Disease. She will be sorely missed.

Eloise is preceded in death by her parents and her siblings: Donald Kilgore, David Kilgore, Tassie Czajkowski, and James Kilgore. She is survived by her husband, their children: Greg Palecek of Ceres and Karin Palecek-Miles of Dayton, TN, their grandchildren: Brandon Temple of Clayton, DE, Nick Lancaster of Ceres, and Jacob Lancaster of MI, and her sister Melonie Martin.

A Graveside Service will be held Friday, November 9, 2018 at 2:00pm at Lakewood Memorial Park, 900 Santa Fe Ave, Hughson, CA.
