John Willinger passed away peace­fully on Sun­day morn­ing, De­cem­ber 2, 2018.

He was born and raised in Modesto, Ca. John grad­u­ated from Thomas Downey High School in Modesto and Arm­strong Univer­sity in Berkley.

John’s fa­ther started Willinger’s Au­to­mo­tive in 1945 and John took the reins over in 1963 and re­tired. 30 years later and went into full time farm­ing and en­joy­ing fam­ily life.

John was in the Army Na­tional Guard in his early years and very in­volved in nu­mer­ous or­ga­ni­za­tions through­out his life in­clud­ing Knight of Colum­bus, Pri­vate In­dus­try Coun­cil, Sun­rise Ro­tary, Sports­man’s of Stanis­laus, Stanis­laus County Swiss Club, and the Old Fish­er­men’s Club, and loved vol­un­teer­ing.

He leaves be­hind his wife of 56 years, Karen Kier­nan Willinger, daugh­ter Michelle Reilly (Phil) and their daugh­ters Kait­lyn and Ken­dall, son Brian (Lynette) and their sons Jonathan and Jeremy, and great-grand­son Levi. And many nieces and a nephew.

He was pre­ceded in death by his par­ents John and Olympia (AKA Pinkie) Willinger, his youngest daugh­ter Kel­ley Ann, his sis­ters Eva­line Curti, Jeanne Theobald, and Gla­dys Su­rina.

Ser­vices will be Tues­day, De­cem­ber 11, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of

Fa­tima, 505 West Granger Ave. Modesto, Ca. 95350

In lieu of flow­ers, do­na­tions can be made to your fa­vorite char­ity or Stanis­laus County.
